Though there are plenty of websites out there dedicated to historical photos of Portland, Oregon’s past, I’ve always felt that a modern-day perspective imprints a more meaningful experience to the viewer.  This blog’s formula is to give this perspective by approximating, as close as possible, pictures from “today”, taken from the same photographic position as the original photographers did, often over a century ago.

Rather than going on location to shoot most of these photos, I’ve used the freely open sources provided by Google’s Street View.

Unless specified otherwise, I do not take any credit for any of these photos and any applicable copyrights are preserved bu their original owner(s).  Wherever possible, I will list the credit(s) for the photos as the bottom.
